Merchant Promotion is Back
What do I mean when I say merchant promotion is back?
The old web site had a nifty way for merchants accepting Dwolla to get free promotion and generate traffic for their web site. On various parts on the web site you would see Use Dwolla @ accompanied by a merchant logo. Here are a few examples:

We saw a ~3% conversation on local Des Moines merchant logos and wanted to bring it back with the new design.
We received some feedback and decided to revamp this feature. What we heard about the last design was:
- Positive. Love the uncomplicated design. No flash, video, or sounds. Just a logo.
- Negative. The logo does not tell the whole story. More information is needed.
- Negative. More than one merchant logo on a page is too much.
What we changed is:
- Positive. Left the logos alone to keep it simple.
- Positive. Added a text section under the logo to allow companies to describe themselves.
- Positive. 1 instance on dwolla.org help & blog pages.
- Positive. 1 instance on the primary dwolla.com page.
Here is the end result:

It reminds me of the ad unit I see on blogs like 37Signals’ Signal vs. Noise, which is powered by The Deck. It’s clean, simple, unobtrusive, and actually provides value (by presenting information about the company). Nice work on this revamp! Looks great!
